5 Stars Across the Board

  • The sheer joy I experienced when a friend surprised me by showing up to a walk I'd invited her to could not have happened without Global Day of Unplugging. It required a bit of advanced planning, and I was definitely going through mild withdrawal, but I'm really glad I participated.

  • We love the concept! Our community really got into it. Several store owners were sharing about it as customers came in and posted "no cell phone zone" signs on their doors. We hope to expand this aspect of the event next year! Participants are telling us it really helped them recognize how much time they spend on their phones and how much time they could have to do other things.

  • It is such an amazing day! In every corner of the world, it’s like being connected with people around the world with the same mission and goals, spreading the same message, all in different ways. Simply magical!

  • We hosted an event at the Hotel Amour's Book Bar, with approximately 30 Opal users. We offered drinks and activities, such as writing your goals for 2024 on sticky notes. Such a great initiative!!

  • While it might seem gimmicky at first, it really is liberating to put down your devices and just interact with others. I don't feel the same pressure to be constantly in the know when I'm separated from my smartphone. I enjoy living more because I'm not focused on the next email or text. I'm able to.exist in the moment, and that is the best gift I've given myself in nearly 15 years.

  • My work is all electronic so unplugging feels weird but really good. My son spends a lot of time online as well so we were able to bond while unplugging.
